Adobe SVG & Vista
From MB Wiki
One area of interest so far has been the SVG Viewer and its compatibility with Vista. One of our engineers in Tempe downloaded the version for Windows XP onto Windows Vista, since there?s no version listed for Windows Vista. He was able to play back his ride without issue.
One tip that was mentioned: click on the information bar to allow the ActiveX control to run.
Another user tried the following procedure and the Map Player is running for him:
- Download SVG installer from Adobe.
- Run SVG installer _as_administrator_ . By default, you do not run programs as administrator in Vista.
- Run IE _as_administrator_, open Motionbased.com.
- When you get to the page where it asks whether you want to install the ActiveX control, select 'yes.' In this case, it only seems to work if IE is launced as administrator. On subsequent launches, IE did not need to run as administrator, only the time that it installed your ActiveX control.
Thanks, Bob!
