Browser Requirements
MotionBased is compatible with the following browsers:
- IE 6.0+: Once IE 7.0 is officially released we will support that as well.
- Netscape 7.2
- Firefox 1.1
- Safari 2.0
Windows 2000 Patch
IE released a patch in August 2006. This patch interferes with MotionBased, causing IE to crash when trying to view MotionBased (affects the Digest most often). The simple fix is to disable HTTP 1.1. By doing this you will have access to the entire site once again.
dict.leo.org also reports problems and the following suggestions for a quick fix:
After applying the latest Microsoft security patch on Windows 2000 und XP systems with SP1, IE may crash after two or three queries to the 'dict'.
Workaround:
- Disable the use of 'HTTP 1.1' in IE's "Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced"; or:
- Reset the IE security settings to high (Internet Options -> Security Settings -> Reset to: High (with the sidefect that you may not be able to view certain other pages); or:
- You can obtain a hotfix by contacting: Microsoft Support (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923762/en-us)
JavaScript Requirement
JavaScript must be ENABLED in order to view MotionBased.
- In Firefox:
- Go to "Tools"
- Options
- Content
- Make sure the box next to "Enable JavaScript" is checked
- Click OK
- In Internet Explorer:
- Go to "Tools"
- Internet Options
- Choose Security
- Choose Default Level
TrailNetwork Queries
On larger TrailNetwork queries you may see slow speeds. Sometimes the page will hang for what seems like forever. Fear not, You can try your search again. Try making some different filters. Check out the Search area for more information on refining your Search criteria.
Blank Digest and TrailNetwork
If you are using CA turn off the ad-pop up/pop under control, the digest will appear.
