Event Courses

You can now download Courses for many of the major events highlighted at MotionBased.

Requirements

To use Courses, you must be using the following GPS devices running the latest firmware and have the required software installed on your computer.

GPS Devices

• Garmin Edge 205
• Garmin Edge 305
• Garmin Forerunner 205
• Garmin Forerunner 305

GPS Unit Software

Make sure your GPS device has the latest unit software installed. In many cases, the pre-installed software on the device does not support Courses properly.

• Edge 205/305 Software Update (http://www.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=010-00447-00) - version 2.35 or higher required
• Forerunner 205/305 Software Update (http://www.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=010-00467-00) - version 2.30 or higher required

Computer Software

You must have one of the following software's installed on your computer:

• Garmin Training Center (version 3.1.3 or later (http://www.garmin.com/support/agree.jsp?id=835))

or

• MotionBased Agent (version 2.3 or later (http://www.motionbased.com/support/download/view.mb?tile=support.download.agent))

Download Instructions

Follow these instructions to download a course from MotionBased to your GPS device. At this time, you must you use the Garmin Training Center to get course files onto the GPS device. We plan to launch downloads through the MotionBased Agent very shortly.

Garmin Training Center

1. Click on the Courses box or link
2. When prompted by the pop-up box, save the file to your Desktop
3. Connect GPS device to your computer with USB cable
4. Launch Garmin Training Center
5. Select 'File' from menu and then select 'Import' > 'Courses'
6. Choose the new file on your Desktop and click on the 'Open' button
7. Click on 'Courses' button near the top
8. Highlight the course you imported
9. Click on 'Send Workouts and Courses' icon button
10. Re-name Course (optional)
11. Click Submit button
12. Read Course Instructions to learn how to use on the device

If this is your first time using Training Center, you must "Receive from Device" before the course will "Send to Device."

MotionBased Agent

1. Click on the Courses box or link
2. When prompted by the pop-up box, save the file to your Desktop
3. Connect GPS device to your computer with USB cable
4. Launch the MotionBased Agent Program
5. Click 'Import Files'
6. Click 'Browse'
7. Select download course from your desktop and click 'Open'
8. Click 'Send' button, you will be prompted to re-name Course (optional)
9. Click 'Send' button
