Garmin Training Center

The Garmin Training Center (http://www.garmin.com/products/trainingcenter/), also called GTC, is provided at no cost with each Garmin Fitness Device. Make certain that you are using the most recent version (http://www.garmin.com/support/agree.jsp?id=835). You can tell which version you have by opening the GTC program and clicking on 'Help' and then 'About'.
MotionBased interfaces with the Garmin Training Center in the following ways:
- Import History (hst) file from Training Center to MotionBased. Great way to get data stored on GTC to MotionBased. Many new customers to MotionBased who have previously recorded activities stored on the Training Center do this import to initially populate their MotionBased Digest.
- Export History (hst) file from MotionBased to Training Center. Opt for this export if you want to transfer data stored at MotionBased to the Garmin Training Center.
- Export Course (crs) file from MotionBased to Training Center. Allows you to edit a course in the Garmin Training Center to add course points beyond Start and Finish.
Application Security
GTC running on Microsoft Windows XP can run as a non Administrative user with the following registry tweek:
Run regedit as the user required to run, locate the following Key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Garmin
Then add Full Control permissions for yourself
To protect the application from unauthorized modifications, installation and applying updates should be done as the Administrator user.
