Linking myGarmin and MotionBased accounts

As a division of Garmin, we are slowly making strides to further integrate with Garmin products and services. This process will link your MotionBased account with a myGarmin account. We hope to eliminate future confusion by doing this now rather than later. The end result is ONE username and password for access to MotionBased and myGarmin. Keep in mind that this might not be of much interest now, and it may be more for us than you, but we do have future plans for your benefit. In the mean time, let's work together to finish up this process, so you never need to do it again.

What's going on!?!?!?
We are linking your MotionBased account with another account database, myGarmin. Before you can go further, you need to answer a few questions and complete the process. Don't worry, your activities are safe at MotionBased and you'll see them shortly.
Why can't I login?
If you haven't already completed this process, you MUST successfully complete to access to your Activities.
What is myGarmin?
myGarmin is a Garmin service for device registration and functionality related to mapping devices (non-fitness), like unlocking and updating maps. myGarmin will be expanding it's functionality and we want you to access both accounts with the same username and password.
Why is MotionBased doing this?
So you only have ONE username and password for Garmin services. Who needs more usernames anyways? It will also allow us to better manage your account.
Why does it tell me, "you username is already registered at myGarmin?
The process is linking MotionBased and myGarmin accounts, so it's telling you that your MotionBased username is already registered at myGarmin. It could be you or someone else, just keep answering questions and we'll complete the process.
Do I need a myGarmin account to complete the process?
NO, you don't need a myGarmin account. Although, once the process is complete you will be given myGarmin credentials. It's these credentials that you will use to access MotionBased, as well as myGarmin.
If I have a myGarmin account can I use it for login at MotionBased?
Yes and NO.
- If you already have a MotionBased account, login with those credentials and we'll help you link your accounts.
- If you don't have MotionBased account, but have a myGarmin account, login with your myGarmin account and we'll help you get set up on MotionBased.
I have a myGarmin account but don't remember my username and password?
Go to my.garmin.com and retrieve your credentials with forgot password or username.
What is a community "alias?"
If your MotionBased username is taken by someone else at myGarmin, you can keep it as a MotionBased alias. It's like a screen name that is seen by the MotionBased community. Don't forget, it's not for login.
The system is telling me that my username is too short.
Your username needs to have a minimum of 6 characters. If you have previously registered with a username with fewer than 6 characters you will need to change your username.
Now that I've merged, I can't upload from the Agent.
This may be due to one of a couple of problems:
- If your username was taken and you chose to create a new username, and not keep your username as an Alias, you need to change your Agent Configured to your new username.
- If you kept your MotionBased username as an alias, and created a new myGarmin username, make sure you keep the Agent Configured with your MotionBased Alias and email.
- You may not have entered your email at the myGarmin registration. That means that when you Configure the Agent with your email there is no corresponding email at MotionBased or myGarmin to bring in the upload successfully.
