MB Wiki:Policy
From MB Wiki
This is a proposed guideline and discussion for MB Wiki policy. It is definitely not straightened out yet, but that is the spirit that I propose. Please edit boldly if the spirit is preserved, otherwise be cautious :-). Please comment below in the same page.

What is MB Wiki?
MB Wiki has 3 purposes.
- A place to define and discuss the MotionBased software
- A place to describe and discuss GPS Technology and GPS Units as they relate to MotionBased.
- A place to share tips, comments, opinions, stories and essays (success or not) about people: including but not limited to trainers, athletes, coaches, recreationalists, and outdoor enthusiasts, who are using MotionBased, GPS, and Location Based Services in general.

Who are MB Wiki editors?
All people are welcome, and encouraged, to participate to MB Wiki, under ips, under pseudonymes or under real names.
To become an editor, it is enough to click on the "Edit" tab on any page in the MB Wiki, change some text, and submit those changes.
The only major limits of MB Wiki in terms of editing participation are
- respect of copyright (please do not upload copyrighted images, please do not paste copyrighted material here => instead, use your own creativity skill)
- respect of other participants (please try to stay polite, to avoid personal attacks, to avoid lying, to avoid cheating, to avoid threatening => instead, think w:en:wikilove)
- respect for meta content (please, do not remove meta content, do not deface the place, do not hurt meta image => instead, use the discussion page, or go have a scream in the sandbox, or set your own wiki)
For these reason, MB Wiki community is not open towards trolls and vandals. While trolls and vandals may be technically considered members of the community, they are more like uninvited and obnoxious houseguests, and are usually kicked out at the next best opportunity.
Pages that are written from the point of view of trolls and vandals and making this position look like the community view -- are not desirable on MB Wiki, as they do not represent community opinion. Such individuals are free to voice their opinion in discussions or in their user space, of course.
What goes into MB Wiki content?
Help documentation, definitions, FAQ, community events like races (MB-ized), training methodologies, and other subjects that aren't suitable for the forum. A single source of information for the MB community to browse and edit when they find resolutions to their problems.
