Trouble Shooting Map Player
Loading has timed out
I am unable to get Analyzer and Map Player to work. Analyzer just never loads and Map player says 'Loading' for about a minute then I get an error message. Error message is as follows
"Loading has timed out. There may be a problem with this Activity, it may be a very large activity or you may have a very slow connection."
Usually this is due to the SVG Viewer not being installed properly or it is an old version. Try to re-install the SVG Viewer (http://www.motionbased.com/support/download/view.mb?tile=support.download.svg).
Even if the icon shows up, sometimes there are problems that our more complex Map Player will find that the simpler test log does not.
Map Player does not Work
If you have an activity that is not working when trying to use the Map Player, it could be due to bad Heart Rate data. If that's the case, your HR graph will end in the middle of the activity, similar to the shot below.
Send MotionBased a link to your activity and we'll take a look at the data. If it turns out to be the HR data, we'll remove the HR data so you can at least see the activity in the Map Player.
Browser Helper Objects (BHO)
BHO stands for Browser Helper Object - things like Yahoo! toolbar and similar. These may interfere with the Analyzer and Map Player causing IE to crash.
- In IE7 go to Options --> Programs --> Manage add ons --> Disable all BHO (Browser Helper Objects).
- Restart IE7 and . . . problem solved!
The BHO that really caused the biggest problem was Text Ware?s QuickFind. It comes bundled with Cambridge Advanced Learner?s Dictionary on CD-ROM. What QuickFind does is that it detects mouse movements anywhere on the screen and detects displayed word in any active application and then gives you dictionary entry for it. Sounds quite handy, really, if it wasn?t for the fact that it caused IE to crash. And it was exactly in line with the previous discovery that IE crashes when mouse is moved. All pieces fitted together.
(Thank you, Max from Italy, for this great troubleshooting solution!)
