Quick Filters

From MB Wiki

Quick Filters allow you to refine the list of activities displayed in the Digest of My Activities and the TrailNetwork. Quick Filters differs than Search by using pre-defined fields to initiate the query rather than freeform keywords.

Time Period

Many of us are training for a specific event and it is important to see only those relevant activities from a start date to a finish date. Use the Time Period Quick Filter to show only those activities that occur within a certain time range:

  • Day - the smallest unit of time except for Custom Dates
    • Last 7
    • Last 30
    • Last 90
    • Last 180
    • Last 365
  • Week - we consider a week Monday thru Sunday
    • This Week - Activities since Monday morning.
    • Last Week - Activities between last Monday morning to last Sunday night.
  • Month - not all months are the equal amount of day
    • This Month - Activities from the morning of the first day of the current month.
    • Last Month - Activities from the morning of the last day of the previous month.
  • Year - you may choose from 2002 and beyond
  • Custom - available for you to choose any start date and end date. Unlike the other Time Period filters that update the moment you make a choice, the Custom Period requires you to choose from two Calendars...Start and Finish.

Shows the drop down selection for custom period -> Highlighting the From link -> Higlighting the Month -> Highlighting the Day

Now notice the date chosen on the calendar now fills the link. Do this for both the From and To and you now have a custom range. Once both the From: and To: links have been chosen appropriately the Digest Results will automatically refresh.

Filter

The Filter text box allows you to refine the activity listing by the pre-defined fields. As you begin typing, suggested filters automatically appear in a drop-down menu.

The suggestions are mixed between Activity Type, Event Type and Country. As you continue to type the word, the suggested selections get smaller. You may use the mouse or the up/down arrows on your keyboard to highlight your desired selection.

You may also enter a keyword search in this text box which has the same functionality as Search. If you enter a keyword search, you will need to hit the 'Add' button to trigger the filter.

Upon selection, the chosen filter will appear in the Filter Details (the adjacent box to the right).

You may continue to add or delete Quick Filters, Advanced Filters, and Search queries in the Filter Details section.

Filter Details

As you enter Quick Filters and Advanced Filters, your selection criteria will display in the Filter Details box. You may remove any of these filters by clicking on the Delete link.
