Most of the new GARMIN GPS Units are built with USB ports for communicating with a personal computer and charging the lithium batteries.
You need to install the Garmin USB Drivers before using the MotionBased Agent to retrieve the activities from your device.

Installation Procedure
- Select download (http://www.garmin.com/support/agree.jsp?id=591) to be directed to the Garmin website where you'll select "I agree to the above terms and conditions and want to proceed to the download page."
- After reading the instructions, select "Download".
- A screen entitled File Download - Security Warning will appear with the choices RUN SAVE CANCEL.
- Select SAVE.
- SAVE the file to your Hard drive by way of your Desktop. It will appear as USBDrivers_21 (if 21 is the latest version).
- One of 2 things will happen:
- The file may open a window that states Download Complete.
- Select RUN, then SETUP.
- The SETUP screen will prompt you through a series of screens where you will select "Next" to the end.
- The file will save to your Desktop.
- Double click on the zip file and choose RUN, then SETUP.
- The SETUP screen will prompt you through a series of screens where you will select "Next" to the end.
- The file may open a window that states Download Complete.
- After that series of prompts finishes running, plug in your device.
- A new hardware screen wizard will appear.
- Follow the prompts (next) through to the FINISH.
- Your USB ports will be ready to read your device(s).
- Test to make sure the USB ports have been successfully installed by plugging in your device again and running it with Training Center and MotionBased.
After the successful install, you can remove the Zip file from your desktop. The USB drivers will be stored under C:\Garmin\USB_Drivers.

Verify Installation
If you have run the entire installation and your system continues having problems detecting your device, follow these steps to verify that the installation was successful:
- Right click on "My Computer"
- Select "Properties"
- Click the "Hardware" tab
- Click the "Device Manager" Button
- Plug in your device
- The "Garmin Devices" menu selection will appear
- Expand the "Garmin Devices" menu selection
- If you see the USB Device with the exclamation point, as shown in this example, you will need to install the ports. (Please note that the Warning Sign may not be under the Garmin heading on your computer. It may be under a heading similar to "USB Ports", etc.)
- A Welcome Wizard will automatically prompt when the device is plugged into the computer via USB cable
- Click "Next" when prompted to "Install software automatically"
- The Wizard will prompt through the finish and advise when the ports have been installed

If the installation did not work
There is a chance that the installation did not work. Follow these instructions to install the USB Drivers:
- Make sure your device is plugged in
- Right click on the USB Device with the yellow warning marker
- From the drop down menu select "Update Driver..."
- The Welcome Wizard will appear
- Choose "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), then click "Next"
- Click "Browse"
- Open the "My Computer" menu by clicking on the "+"
- Open the Local Disk (C:) by clicking on the "+"
- Open the "Garmin" menu by clicking on the "+"
- Select "USB Drivers" (this selection may be listed under USB Drivers instead of Garmin)
- The drivers will be selected
- Select "Next" on the Installation Wizard
- The Wizard will run through the installation
- Click "Finish"
- You may verify that the drivers have been installed
